Clash at The Canyons IX
Year after year Clash weekend proves the Chicagoland Area has the strongest disc golf community out there. In a time where a lot of other areas are reporting a decline in the sport we continue to see more new faces and that is because of all of you! You die-hards are the pulse of the community. We are also stoked to see new clubs and leagues popping up to offer disc golf for every walk of life, whether it’s a sanctioned league, a league for recovery or discovering faith, all of these leagues matter. This sport is bigger than birdies and bogeys and we get to catch a glimpse of that on a daily basis in the shop, when we run tournaments it’s even more evident. It is at these tournaments where we get to catch up with the people we don’t get to see but a few times a year. Thanks to all of you for making Clash at The Canyons IX a benchmark in our communal story.
It was a HOT and windy one, we went through over 1,850 bottles of water. The key to those hot weekends is to hydrate early and often and most of y’all did so.
We will get to the players shortly but first a huge thanks needs to go out to our volunteers, they keep us sane and keep the pace of play moving.
