Clash at the canyons x

Ten years. They’ve come and gone so quickly. We hope that we’ve made the last ten years special. We ask ourselves every year what is it that makes Clash so special? Is it because it’s the longest running tournament that we do? Is it that your name gets announced? We haven’t been able to pin it down. One of things that sticks out to us this year is the great attitudes of the players that had to deal with the relentless rain that came down Sunday afternoon. We sent card after card out into the rain knowing that they were about to spend their entire round trying to stay dry and focused. It would have been really easy for you all to complain about what you had to just go through, but you didn’t. All we saw all afternoon was smiling faces and laughs. We can’t put into words how much that means.

What makes Clash, and all the events we run, special to us is you. Thank you for being thoughtful, kind, considerate and informed. It really does make these weekends memorable! Let us know your favorite part of Clash X, whether it was the cops being called on chuckers, the cardmate that didn’t get into the ace pot or the ice cream sandwiches, tell us your story!

Onto the thanks…

Joe Moore joined us another year and started every single card on Saturday and Sunday, Joe’s enthusiasm and love for this event helps make Clash unique and more fun at tournament central.

Huge thanks to our spotters!

Vern Manning had Hole 4 on lock all day Saturday and most of Sunday.

Matt Kelly kept the Upper Layout flowing on Hole 13.

Ed Schenkenfelder celebrates 10 years with us as he has staked his claim on Hole 6A all ten years of Clash at The Canyons!

Prisoner #1 spotted on Hole 13 since he couldn’t do anything else.

Chris Hahn brought boatloads of candy for all to enjoy, the scoops of Reeces Pieces brought out the childlike energy in everyone.

Easton Gotts, the GOAT of the Lockport Township Park District, worked his butt off getting the fairways cleaned of trees and debris after the storm and laid mulch on every tee pad.

Rich Wegner III was our water guy, our spotter taker care of guy, food runner, spotter relief and overall MVP.

Thanks to Taco Heaven and The Frosty Freezer for providing great tacos and ice cream.

Thanks to our sponsors
