About five years ago while walking our dogs along the I&M Canal trail in Lockport Sean had a vision to bring disc golf to Lincoln Landing. The area would be perfect for a putting style competition and with the success of running the Joliet Prison Putting League and Hellwood Putting League we knew we had to make this vision a reality. The main goal of this event was to give our local am and pro players huge payouts, we also wanted new eyes on the sport of disc golf by bringing competition to downtown Lockport. Our goal was achieved and we paid out over $13,000 overall, the money was raised by the GJTS crew. Huge thanks to the City of Lockport for allowing us to use the space!

Lockport is rich in history, The I&M Canal was a 96-mile hand-dug canal that was opened in 1848 and connected the Illinois River to Lake Michigan. The canal was the final link needed to complete an all-water route that ran from the East Coast through the Great Lakes down to the Gulf of Mexico. (iandmcanal.org)

The beautiful backdrop of the Gaylord Building was built in 1838 and served as a warehouse to I&M Canal operations, it now houses the Public Landing restaurant and Gallery Seven fine art gallery.

Baskets take over Lincoln Landing.
