20th New Lenox Open

After a 19 year hiatus the 20th New Lenox Open has come, gone and now entered into the history books.
This is our first event of the year that had great weather. 😅
We had appearances by the greats on Saturday. Gary Lewis, Paul McCallister and Jesse Saenz were there doing some interview work with Doc for States this year. It was great to see the people that started this event on site of its resurrection!
The New Lenox Park District has done a phenomenal job so far keeping up with the maintenance of the redesign.
There were definitely a lot of, “I didn’t see how this format was going to work” comments. Thanks for believing in the team (only half sarcasm). I’m glad you guys did enjoy it though!
Saturday saw 2 Aces! Mike “Shiggs” Schuldt got Hole 4 Red to B pin. Alex Cizek got hole 7 Red to B. $168 to each Ace! Hot Round on Saturday was provided by MA2 player Nick Cooper. He shot a 41 (-13) bogey free!
Sunday was another amazing day! We saw 2 more Aces. Roger Tranowski got hole 8 White to A pin and Caleb Hasselbring got hole 5 White to A pin. $168 to each! Hot Round second day was again Nick Cooper matching his 41 (-13) this time with one bogey.

20th New Lenox Open Winners
Gianna Losito (10) continues to dominate FA4, she took down the division after a 7 hole playoff against Helen Handschuh. Gianna shot a massive 140 points above her rating.
Dawn Piña took down her second win in FA3.
Erin Havok took down another win in FA1 and pulls ahead in the GJTS points.
Eric Decker takes down his second win in MA4.
Steve Schuman takes down his first win in MA3.
Nicholas Cooper shot two -13 with only one bogie all weekend to win MA2 🔥
John Cleaveland won MA70 and is #9 in the PDGA Global Masters Series Rank.
Roger Tranowski won MA60 by 9 strokes and also hit an Ace on hole 8 White. Roger is #31 in his division in the Global Masters Series Rank.
Charles Punter wins his second event of the year in MA50.
Jorge Piña Jr. took it down in MA40.
Jason Allen won MA1 in a playoff against Joshua Koch.
